Effects of cancellation If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you payments received from you, excluding the cost of delivering the goods to you.

This reimbursement is subject to the following conditions:

●            We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

Anything over 50 miles will be considered unnecessary handling and will lead to a deduction of £2.50 for each mile thereafter. In addition, we will also be entitled to make a deduction for any damage, excess wear and if the bike is not returned in good clean condition as delivered

.

●            We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 7 days after the day we receive back from you the vehicle and all documents which were supplied including, but not limited to, service histories and the V5 documentation.

We reserve the right to register the vehicle with the DVLA only on expiry of your 14 day cancellation period.

●            We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. In any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

This will include handing back any part exchange vehicle and it’s safe transport and costs of delivery back to you if still available and/or seeking payment from you to cover any negative equity.

●            We will withhold the reimbursement until we have received the vehicle and all paperwork back in good order.

●            It is your responsibility to return the vehicle without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation of this contract to us. Once notice of cancellation has been given, the vehicle must only be driven for journeys authorised by Fastlanemoto Ltd. Photographed mileage must be given.

●           You will remain liable for the vehicle and so for its tax, insurance, and any fines, charges or penalties until it has been accepted back to our premises.

●            You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods, returning your part exchange to you if part of the original agreement and take full responsibility for the safe return of the vehicle.

●           You lose the right to cancel if you alter or modify the vehicle whilst in your possession.

Warranty on older bikes  **Please Read**

Any bikes such as this that are over 20 plus years of age will only have a basic warranty against actual breakage or failure of a component and be for a period of a month only.

We will prepare them properly to a good running condition and to a level required to comfortably pass an MOT test, we will point out any known problems, quirks or areas to keep an eye on.

We will always get involved and help where we reasonably can but we won’t pay for other than actual breakages and component failure.

From time to time realistically they can be expected to break down, leak oil or petrol, misfire, not start, go out of tune, need sympathy, fettling and owner input. It is just the nature of the beast.

Our greatest enemy is Ethanol in the modern fuels, it eats rubber seals, corrodes alloy and forms an acid which eats through steel, it really is poison for our bikes, additives help but don’t cure. Always use superplus or E5 in any bike but remember it still contains ethanol just a bit less. On older bikes if you lay them up DRAIN THE FUEL

When owning a bike of advancing years it must be appreciated that things will go wrong and possibly from day one especially if they have been laid up for a while. Electrical looms go hard and brittle, rubber seals and fuel couplings go hard, it is impossible to replace all these and their fragility must be considered as part and parcel of the machine. A nut and bolt restored machine can be twice the price for this very reason.

As we say, following a long lay up these components may fail, you haven’t bought a pup, it is just a basic rule of older mechanical components but should be a consideration before you buy. To some it is a joy of older vehicle ownership, to others it is not practical ownership. Think carefully before you buy.

Remember a degree of fettling over time will often be required and possibly from day one.
